Your Impact

When you support National Jewish Health, you ensure that our mission to heal, to discover, and to educate is carried out in these ways:

Life-Changing Care

HELPING PATIENTS FIND ANSWERS:  National Jewish Health is the place where people from across the country and around the globe come for answers for the most devastating lung, heart, immune and related diseases. Our expert physician-scientists and world-class medical teams combine their specialized knowledge with the most sophisticated technology and tools to detect, diagnose and treat many diseases earlier and with greater accuracy than ever before. But the most important tool is the ability of our care teams to listen to patients and respond to their needs. This is the key to finding answers when others cannot.

Watch this video to see how National Jewish Health’s multi-disciplinary approach and pioneering treatments gave these three patients another chance at life.

Breathtaking Research

ADVANCING MEDICAL RESEARCH: Our team of professionals remain focused on leading clinical studies and exploring cutting-edge therapies, while offering effective treatments and developing methods for early intervention. Together, we have made many advancements. For example, recently the dedicated experts at our Center for Post-COVID Care and Recovery have uncovered the root cause of long COVID fatigue, concluding that mitochondria — the powerhouses of our cells — do not function properly in patients with these symptoms. In addition, we have discovered a new treatment for a type of antibiotic-resistant mycobacterial lung infection, and we have developed a novel therapy for asthma that has recently been approved by the Federal Drug Administration. At the heart of this research is the willingness of patients who volunteer for clinical studies on emerging therapies and contribute to medical knowledge.

Patient Education

HELPING PATIENTS LEARN ABOUT THEIR CONDITIONS: At National Jewish Health, we seek to improve patient outcomes by providing a wide variety of free educational opportunities for patients and their families. We help patients learn how to manage their diseases properly and better understand their conditions through brochures, videos, support groups and one-on-one consultations.

In addition, chronically ill students in grades K-8 can attend Morgridge Academy, a one-of-a-kind, tuition-free day school that helps them thrive academically while providing the medical and social support they need.

Watch this video: To see how Morgridge Academy helps students get their health condition under control and get their academics back on track.

Education for Health Care Providers

TRAINING LEADERS OF TODAY AND TOMORROW: The world-class faculty and staff at National Jewish Health are leaders in their fields and provide exceptional professional education, fellowships and other education programs, that elevate the standard of patient care and teach the next generation of health care professionals. We provide learners with the most up-to-date information on treatment modalities, advances in clinical practice and research updates based on evidence based medicine and solid needs assessment.

Watch this video: To learn about our pediatric asthma bootcamp that brought evidence-based training to providers in rural areas. The result is improved physician adherence to current asthma guidelines, leading to fewer hospitalizations, emergency room visits and decreased use of oral corticosteroids among participating practices.
